![]() My wife and I got a Long Island and an "Oracle" ( Rum Punch) and they were both gross. Once you sit down a server comes around and asks if you want something from the bar before the show starts. Once the show is ready to start, a mass horde moves towards a couple of doors into the arena and everyone tries to squeeze in to be first so it's best to just wait as your seats are already by row anyway. You will probably end up buying a couple of things to add to the kids' experience. After the picture room, you walk into the castle where there are small shops, a few kiosks and a bar for seilling overpriced items not unlike any other amusement park. Then you get your seating assignment and paper crown before entering a room where one of the cast will take pictures with your group which they later try to sell you in a cardboard frame for $20. When you walk in, all of the staff are in costume and character which is pretty neat and once you get in the main entry you can be standing in line at the cashier for some time (one guy complained about being in line for an hour so I recommend buying tickets online as there are also usually deals and coupons you can use). the doors open 75 prior to the show and seating is first come first serve without the package upgrades. we went to the 4:30 show, left the city (Michigan Ave.) at around 2:00 and got to the castle at about 3:45. Schaumburg is about 55 minutes west of Chicago so if you are coming from the city make sure you have plenty of time because traffic can be pretty bad. Medieval Times in Schaumburg is a pretty fun place to go. ![]() We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us and thank you again for your concern for our four-legged stars. Their stalls are cleaned 4-6 times per day and they enjoy 3 meals all in their climate controlled stables which are monitored by our team 24/7. They're visited by their veterinarian to ensure physical health, a dentist, and their farrier for hoof care. Our horses are not only coworkers, they're family and they receive the best of care. Think of it like at the dentist when they're examining your teeth and your mouth is open and relaxed, your salivary glands tend to work a bit harder. ![]() The extra saliva produced is a sign that the horse is relaxed and accepting the bit in their mouth. Our horses and riders use what is known as a bit and bridle, it's a bar that goes next to the horses's jaw that can be used for signaling when riding or performing maneuvers. We understand that the sight of saliva coming from the horses mouths can be alarming but it is actually a good thing. Venmo payments are also accepted for touch-free gratuity exchange and ATM’s are available inside the Hall of Arms.Thank you for your concern, my lady. If you would prefer to leave gratuity in cash, feel free to wait and give your gratuity directly to your server at the end of the show. We often get asked if gratuity is included in the admission price: Great question! We do not include gratuity in the admission price.
